Title: Synthesis of dimethyl carbonate from urea and methanol

Abstract: The present progress of synthesis of dimethyl carbonate at home and abroad is reviewed and analyzed. A new technology for the preparation of dimethyl carbonate from urea and methanol catalyzed by organotin is emphatically described. Three kinds of methods for preparation of catalysts are introduced; the reaction mechanism, reaction technology and separation technology are discussed in detail; some effective factors such as temperature, pressure and feed ratio are also analysed. It can be concluded that this new process shows more advantages than the traditional technology, for instance, it is easy for production in small plants and environmentally friendly. This green chemical process will have an extensive outlook of development.

Abstract: Recent reactors for fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process are introduced, including two-staged reactors in series, dual-riser reactor, down-flow reactor, multiple-staged feeding reactor, and new structures of the inlet and outlet of the riser reactor. Various kinds of novel FCC processes based on the reactors can effectively enhance the conversion and selectivity of cracking reaction of hydrocarbons and minimize the yields of undesired products, or improve the quality of desired products so as to manufacture the environment-friendly clean fuel products. Moreover, new structures of the riser reactor ends can also suppress the coke deposit on the FCC unit so that the on-stream period of the unit can be prolonged.

Abstract: An atomic matrix method was applied to find out the independent reactions in FCC regenerator, the NOx equilibrium concentration and the factors affecting the NOx equilibrium concentration in regeneration flue gas, and a thermodynamic analysis on FCC regeneration flue gas system were also carried out. The calculation results illustrated that the key factors influencing the NOx equilibrium concentration were regenerator temperature, regenerator pressure, CO initial concentration and O2 initial concentration, etc. This work is expected to provide the theoretical respects for the preparation of deNOx additives.
