(1.)Basic Information

 Graduate Enrollment Information:  Students for Master Degree Candidate and Doctoral Candidate, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

 

Guoan Yangreceived the B.S. degree in industrial automation and control engineering from Jilin University, Changchun China, in 1986, the M.S. degree in automatic control engineering from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Tokyo Japan, in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering with image processing and computer vision from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an China, in 2006. Since 2010, Dr. Yang is an associate professor at the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University. He started his professional career at Hertz Corporation, Tokyo Japan, as a research fellow, and was involved in research on high frequency crystal oscillator from April 1993 to May 2001. Since May 2001, He joined the institute of artificial intelligence and robotics (AIAR) at Xi’an Jiaotong University Chinahe became affiliated with image processing, computer vision and pattern recognition, where he engaged in research and product development in image coding, visual model and signal processing for the development of the AIAR XJTU. In September 2012, Prof. Yang joined the Faculty of  Automatic Control Science and Engineering at the Xi’an Jiaotong University China. Prof. Yang has participated actively in professional societies, he is a member of the IEEE Image Processing Society and Industrial Electronics Society. 2014-2020, he was also a member of INSTICC and also served as a member of program committee of International Conference on Computer Vision Theory and Applications (VISAPP/VISIGRAPP). As project head or coordinator, Prof. Yang carried out several projects from Chinese national 863 plan and Chinese national 973 plan, and the national nature science foundation of China. Up to now, Prof. Yang has published close to 40 papers, and 4 patents and 2 books, also he is a reviewer of several famous journal such as IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence, Neural Networks, and so on.  His research interests include Image processing, Computer vision, pattern recognition, Wavelet analysis, Multiscale geometric analysis, Compressed sensing, etc. 

 

(2.)Positions

From 2007 he is a associate professor working at the institute of artificial intelligence and robotics (i.e. department of pattern recognition and intelligent systems) of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Also, he participated in the research works of the key technologies for environmental perception and target recognition based on visual information, high efficiency scalable video coding method and implementation, and supported by 973 project of national key basic research of China and the national natural science foundation of China, respectively.
