Dr. Guorui Jin received his BE degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology (P. R. China) in 2009.
Then he moved to the National University of Singapore (NUS) to pursue his PhD degree under the supervision of Prof. Seeram Ramakrishna
(former vice-president of NUS). He was a research scientist in the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*Star, Singapore.
Dr. Jin’s research has been focused on regenerative medicine and development of conjugated polymer-based fluorescent nanoparticles
for bioimaging applications.

Dr. Jin has designed and synthesized quantum dot-sized conjugated polymer (CP) nanodots as noninvasive fluorescent trackers with high brightness
and low cytotoxicity for tracking of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to reveal their in vivo behaviors. The work has been published in
Advanced Functional Materials (IF 11.8) and featured as the frontispiece of the journal. In addition, with the help of fluorescence imaging,
Dr. Jin has developed an “all-in-one” anti-cancer platform based on AIE photosensitizer contains functionalities required for image, therapy,
and RNA interference. This work has been published in Chemical Communications (IF 6.8). Dr. Jin has developed plenty forms of
electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds and evaluated their cytotoxicity and capability in promoting stem cell epidermal differentiation
(Biomaterials, Acta Biomaterilia). The paper titled as “Multi-functional electrospun nanofibres for advances in tissue regeneration,
energy conversion & storage, and water treatment” has been published in Chemical Society Reviews (IF: 33.8, co-first author).

Dr. Jin has published 50journal papers, including 13 first author papers (one paper is co-first author).
Some work has been published in top journals such as Advanced Functional Materials (IF:11.8)
Chemical Society Review (IF: 33.8)Biomaterials (IF: 8.5)Chemical Communication (IF: 6.8)Acta Biomaterilia (IF: 6.0).
The total impact factors of the papers published as the first author is around 80 with total citation around 390 and the highest citation
for one single paper is 95 (google scholar). In addition, Dr. Jin has one Singapore patent and attended 5 international conferences with 2 invited talk.
Moreover, Dr. jin has been appointed as the reviewer for journals such as Biomaterials,
Chemical Engineering Journal Scientific Report, Materials Science and Engineering C, Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology.
