It is an important issue, as in applications this flow always occurs. However, the effects associated with this flow are poorly studied because of the fact that electroconvection is a rather complicated phenomenon involving fine interactions, and most researchers seek to simplify the conditions for studying the phenomenon. The manuscript contains new results, namely, how an increase in the length of microchannel under shear flow affects the characteristics of electroconvection. Hence, I think the paper would be of interest for the community of physicists and chemists working in the field of electroconvection.)
