Ph.D. and MS positions are available immediately. The research program focuses on the mechanics and multifunctional applications of nanomaterials, hierarchical materials and energy absorption structures and materials. The candidates with background in solid mechanics and numerical analysis are welcome.
The current research interests in our group focus on the mechanics of nanocomposites, nanodevices, energy absorption structures and materials (EASM). We use multiscale numerical, experimental and theoretical approaches to investigate the various research frontiers in these field. Examples of our recent research include multiscale modeling graphene-drived materials such as grpahene oxide paper, graphene fiber and graphene foam. We aim to develop high performance and multifunctional nanocomposites and EASM which can be widely used in the aerospace, aeronautical, automotive industry and defense engineering.
