The International Meetings of Origami in Science, Mathematics and Education (OSME) have been held since 1989 approximately every four years, showcasing academic research in origami of all kinds. These meetings have been held in Italy, Japan, the USA, Singapore, England, and most recently in Australia for the 8th conference, 8OSME.

The OSME Steering Committee is happy to announce that the location of the next such meeting, 9OSME, will be held in Xi'an, China in August of 2027.  The organizing committee of 9OSME will be

• Yan Chen (Professor in School of Mechanical Engineering, Tianjin University)
• Jianguo Cai (Professor in School of Civil Engineering, Southeast University)
• Wenwu Chang (Educator and Senior teacher in Shanghai Putuo juvenile center)
• Jialei Du (Independent Origami Artist and Mathematician)
• Xiao Chen (Independent Origami Artist and Designer)
• Hang Pan (Origami Artist and Organizer, Origami Wind Studio)

More information will be forthcoming about the exact dates and local arrangements closer to the date. For those wishing to present at 9OSME, a formal call for papers will be announced by August 1, 2026.
