论文简介:
Most solids exhibit modulus hardening upon cooling due to the ever-present atomicbonding enhancement. Although the highly-desired temperature-insensitive modulus (Elinvar effect) has been observed in few solids, it has never been reported in a martensitic system. Our work reports a special kind of martensites with Elinvar effect, stemming from the local displacive transition between two kinds of nano-sized martensitic phases coexisting inside individual micron-sized ferroelastic domains. This transition in ferroelastic systems is like those observed in ferroelectrics and ferromagnets across a morphotropic phase boundary (MPB). It broadens the knowledge of ferroic physics and provides a new recipe for designing Elinvar materials.
