Paper description    Tension behaviors of polymer polycarbonate (PC) and alloy of Polycarbonate and Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (PC/ABS) have been experimentally investigated in this paper. Cyclic loading effect on the tensile fracture properties of these materials has been studied. Two digital cameras are simultaneously used to record the tensile deformation of specimens. It has been observed that the cyclic loading might cause early breaking of polymer chains, therefore reduce the fracture stress and fracture strain greatly for polymer PC and PC/ABS. The addition of ABS to polymer PC has obvious effects on the yield stress and fracture stress of the polymers. It has also been observed that the two lateral contractions are not identical at the later necking stages, but each can be described with a function of tensile strains for both materials. The volume increases during necking process and then after decreases gradually.
