长期致力于金属材料微观组织结构与性能关系、力学行为、金属服役行为如氢脆，腐蚀等方面的研究。为相关材料的选择，组织调控与安全服役提供了重要的理论支持。相关成果近5年以一作发表在国际顶级期刊，包括Nature, Physical Reviewer Letter，Nature Communications, Acta Materialia等。获多个国际科研奖项，担任期刊Metals, Frontiers客座编辑。
