Dr. Tianxiao Zhang is the faculty member of Xi'an Jiaotong University (associate professor). Dr. Zhang completed his undergraduate education in Xi'an Jiaotong university school of life science and technology. Then he studied abroad and obtained a master degree from the Johns Hopkins university and a doctoral degree from Washington University in Saint Louis. Current research interests in Dr. Zhang's lab include the collection and analysis of GWAS and "next generation" sequencing data on the psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, nicotine dependence as well as birth defects disorders such as oral cleft and clubfoot. In addition, Dr. Zhang is also working on data-driven methods and applications of modern epidemiology.  Up to date, Dr. Zhang has published more than 50 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals. His research projects are funded by NSFC and some other provincial level research funds. Dr. Zhang has directed several undergraduate- and graduate-level courses including Epidemiology, Data Management and Analysis,  and Medical Genetics.
