摘要:An approach using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as mid-temperature strengthening phase in gelcasting for the fabrication of ceramic parts with complex internal cores was firstly proposed and adopted. The bending strength of samples with PDMS at 500 degrees C was greatly improved from almost 0 to 1.037 MPa when 4 wt.% PDMS was added. The distinct networks formed by PDMS were responsible for the improvement in mid-temperature strength which was confirmed by the result of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Based on the analysis of X-ray scan, the validity of PDMS was also testified in experiments. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
