Research Groups

Medical Imaging

Mainly focuses on fundamental problems in X-ray medical imaging, including imaging physics, scatter correction, metal artifacts correction, image reconstruction algorithms, X-ray spectrum estimation, dual-energy imaging in diagnostic CT, cone-beam CT, spectral CT , breast tomosynthesis and mammography.

    

Image/Video Quality Assessment

Mainly focuses on fundamental problems in image/video quality assessment based on perception, including human visual system processing mechanism, full reference, part reference and non reference image quality perception model, image quality assessment algorithms based on gradient magnitude and non-shift edge.

Video Coding Based on Peception

Mainly focuses on perception inspired video coding optimization. The specific research areas include block level bit allocation based on constant perceptual quality, visual saliency and its application in video coding, encoding algorithms for H.265 and H.264.
