Dan Li is a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Microelectronics, Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics from the University of Pavia, Italy, and currently serves as Assistant Dean for International Cooperation.
He is a Technical Program Committee member of IEEE CICC, an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, Chair of SC5 (Wireline) for IEEE ICTA, and a TPC member of the Liqiang Forum on Optoelectronic Integrated Circuits.
His research focuses on high-speed optical communication and optoelectronic integrated circuits, including high-speed optical receiver front-ends, transimpedance amplifiers, transmitter drivers, PAM-4 and burst-mode receivers, and EIC–PIC co-design for co-packaged optics and optical I/O. His group has developed optical communication ICs operating from 10 Gb/s to beyond 200 Gb/s using CMOS, SOI CMOS, and SiGe BiCMOS technologies, with recent work targeting 200G/400G optical interconnects for data centers and AI computing systems.
He has published more than 60 papers in journals and conferences including IEEE JSSC, TCAS-I/II, JLT, PTL, MWCL, ISSCC, ESSCIRC, CICC, OFC, ECOC, and ISCAS. He has led research projects funded by the National Key R&D Program of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial programs, and industrial partners. He received the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award for Higher Education Institutions in Shaanxi Province in 2019.
