Dr. Dan Ren is currently a full professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He completed his undergraduate study in the Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2013. He then started his graduate research under the supervision of Prof. Boon Siang Yeo in the National University of Singapore. Soon after he defended his PhD thesis at the end of 2017, he moved to Switzerland and worked as a postdoc with Prof. Michael Grätzel, who heads the Laboratory of Photonics and Interfaces in the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, where he served as the leader of ‘solar fuel’ research group. In early 2022, he started his independent career in the Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is working on electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide and his current research focuses on the physical chemistry of electrocatalytic interfaces, including the mass transport of species, the structure-activity relationship as well as the spectroscopic insights.
