Research field

My main research area is temporal lobe epilepsy with special emphasis on fundamental mechanisms of structural plasticity in hippocampus. I am interested in the role of aberrant granule cells in the epileptogenesis, with particular reference to abnormal axon guidance and synapse formation. My experimental work is focused on the way that epigenetic mechanism and protein glycosylation regulate the formation of aberrant connections of granule cells in the dentate gyrus.
