Ming Ren, Professor, IEEE Member. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China, in 2009 and 2013, respectively. He joined Xi’an Jiaotong University, as a Lecturer, in May 2014, where he is currently a Professor with the HV Technology Institute, School of Electrical Engineering. His main research works are risk assessment of ultra high voltage and extra high voltage (UHV/EHV) power equipment, insulation status diagnosis, and advanced fault detection and protection technologies for power system. Currently he is an investigator of some on-going research projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Research and Development Program of China and the industry. He has been authorized 21 invention patents and has published more than 100 papers. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of the IEEE PES State Detection Subcommittee, a member of the Youth Expert Committee of the China Geotechnical Engineering Track Subcommittee, the Chinese representative of the CIGRE A3.43 Working Group, and an active member of IEEE.
