About Me

I received my Ph.D. degree in Control Science and Engineering supervised by Academician Guan Xiaohong in 2014, and was a post-doctoral researcher in the Computer Department of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2015. Now I am a professor in Computer Science and Technology at Xi'an Jiaotong University.


I have been recruiting master's students, doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows in the School of Computer Science and the School of Software for a long time!


My research directions are closely centered around the academic frontiers, including: network security monitoring, DNS security, encrypted traffic analysis, botnets, connected vehicle security, Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial control security, machine learning, blockchain, etc.


For students who are recommended for exemption from the entrance examination of our university and join the research group in advance after passing the interview, a generous research assistantship bonus will be provided!


I have served as the principal investigator for more than ten national-level projects. The research atmosphere within our team is both relaxed and vibrant, and we enjoy excellent experimental conditions along with favorable benefits!

Research Interests

Research Interests: Cybersecurity and Privacy, Big Data Analysis of Internet of Vehicles, Blockchain.

 

"Security" mainly addresses two important aspects of issues:

 
  1. The security of network infrastructure (such as routing links, DNS).
  2. The security of people within the network (such as urban counter-terrorism based on big data analysis of the Internet of Vehicles).
 

"Privacy" mainly focuses on classic privacy protection measures:

 
  1. Discover privacy vulnerabilities in classic measures. For example, SSH encrypted proxies, VPNs, etc. have been proven unable to fully protect privacy.
  2. Study the corresponding reinforcement methods, develop and deploy practical systems, and ultimately prevent users' privacy from being illegally eavesdropped.
 

Specifically, it involves:
Network attack and defense (such as botnet detection, DDoS attack defense against infrastructure);
Privacy analysis and protection (such as website fingerprinting defense, anonymous networks, location privacy of mobile phones);
Big data security monitoring of the Internet of Vehicles (such as analysis of safe driving behaviors, urban counter-terrorism strategies based on big data analysis of the Internet of Vehicles), etc.
