Pan Xu

Distinguished Research Fellow & Doctoral Supervisor

Young Top-Talent of Xi’an Jiaotong University

Dr. Pan Xu was born in Yingtan, Jiangxi Province in July 1994 and is a member of the Communist Party of China. He currently serves as Distinguished Research Fellow and Doctoral Supervisor, and was selected into the Young Top-Talent Program of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

He received his Bachelor’s degree from Nanchang University in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Yiwang Chen, Prof. Junchao Wei and Prof. Zhenyu Yang. He obtained his Ph.D. from Xiamen University in 2022 supervised by Prof. Quanfeng Dong, Prof. Mingsen Zheng and Academician Zhaowu Tian. Afterwards, he joined the research group led by Prof. Qiang Zhang at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University as an Assistant Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Researcher) and was awarded the Tsinghua Shuimu Scholar fellowship.

His research focuses on polymeric solid-state electrolytes and lithium/sodium metal anodes. To date, he has published over 50 peer-reviewed academic papers, among which 19 articles were published as first/corresponding-first author in top-tier journals including Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Energy Storage Materials, Science China-Chemistry and Journal of Energy Chemistry. His current H-index stands at 30. He has filed 7 Chinese invention patents, 4 of which have been granted. He has delivered 6 oral presentations and 5 invited talks at domestic and international academic conferences.

Dr. Xu is the principal investigator of the Youth Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Special Postdoctoral Science Foundation of China, General Postdoctoral Science Foundation of China and Tsinghua University SRT Program. Meanwhile, he participates as core research member in multiple major research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key R&D Program, Commission of Science and Technology for National Defense, MIIT and Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
