Hanchen Tian, Ph.D., is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). He is a nationally recognized young talent and a Professor appointed under the XJTU Young Talent Program (Tier A). He is also a member of the State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behavior of Materials and serves as Director of the Xi’an International Joint Research Center for Advanced Functional Coating Technology. His research focuses on advanced solid oxide fuel cells and electrolysis cells (SOFC/SOEC), with extensive expertise in materials synthesis and processing, atomic-scale structural characterization, electrochemical analysis, and electrode/interface engineering. His work has particularly addressed the suppression of electrode performance degradation, reversible operation, and self-sustaining cyclic operation of solid oxide cells, leading to significant advances in the durability and reversibility of high-temperature electrochemical energy-conversion devices. He has published more than 30 SCI-indexed papers, including first- and corresponding-author publications in Nature Energy and other leading journals, with a total citation count exceeding 1,000.
