Biography
Tom H. Luan is a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Cyber Science and Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and an IEEE Fellow. He received his bachelor's degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, his master's degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He previously served as a Lecturer in Mobile Computing at the School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Australia; a Professor at the School of Cyber Engineering, Xidian University; and subsequently a Professor at the School of Cyber Science and Engineering, Faculty of Electronic and Information Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University.
Professor Luan's research focuses primarily on large language model systems, agent networking, multi-agent systems, and the security of large language model systems. He has published more than 300 academic papers and authored five scholarly monographs in English. He has served as the principal investigator or project leader for research programs funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including General Program projects and a Regional Joint Fund Key Program project; a project under the National Key Research and Development Program of China administered by the Ministry of Science and Technology; and an Australian Research Council Linkage Project. His honors and awards include the 2017 Best Land Transportation Paper Award from the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, the Outstanding Research Award from the School of Information Technology at Deakin University, the Bell Canada Scholarship for Research and Development in Ontario, the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad, and recognition under the Shaanxi Province Hundred Talents Program.
