Shujiang Ding, born in 1978 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, is a distinguished professor, doctoral supervisor, and the dean of the School of Chemistry at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is a recipient of the Shaanxi Outstanding Youth Fund, honored as a “New Century Excellent Talent” by the Ministry of Education, and designated as a “Shaanxi Youth Science and Technology New Star.” Professor Ding’s expertise extends to the design and fabrication of polymer/inorganic nanocomposite materials, with a particular focus on their application in electrochemical energy storage systems such as lithium/sodium ion batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, solid-state batteries, fuel cells, and lithium-ion battery recycling, as well as in sensor technology. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published more than 160 papers in journals including Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. int. Ed., Energy Environ. Sci., Adv. Energy Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Nano Energy, Chem. Mater., Small, J. Mater. Chem A. His research projects have been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including both general and youth projects), the Doctoral Program Fund, and the Shaanxi Provincial Fund, among others. His accolades include the 2016 Shaanxi Youth Science and Technology Award and the first-place prize in the 2017 Shaanxi Provincial Higher Education Institutions Science and Technology Award. He has been selected as one of the global highly cited scientists in interdisciplinary fields by Clarivate, and one of the highly cited scholars in China by Elsevier.
