Prof. Liu Yong, graduated from Xi’an Medical College in 1982 and got his Master degree in 1985. In 1993, he obtained the PhD degree in medicine in Xi’an Medical University. From 1990 though 1993, he studied in the National Institutes of Health in the United States as a Sr. Associate Researcher. Now, he is the board chairman of Shaanxi Anatomy Society and a member of standing committee of Shaanxi Medical Society. He obtained 4 grants from the National Science Foundation of China as PI and 3 others as participants. He is working in Institute of Neurobiology as director in the school and his research is focusing on the study of the molecular mechanism of brain damage and repair and basic application. He has published more than 70 scientific papers, instructing about 20 graduates and PhD candidates. Prof. Liu obtained a second-class award from government of Shaanxi province in science and technology and was selected as a “Three-Five” experts in 2001. He has been granted the government special award of the State Department of China since 2002. He is an associate dean in charge of research and associate director of the Key Laboratory of Environment and Genes Related Diseases of Education Ministry of China in Xi’an Jiaotong University School of Medicine.
