Dr. Jiao Heping has been recognized as “National High-Level Talent in the Field of Intellectual Property” (2014), “Prolific Author of the Year on Intellectual Property” (2018), and one of the authors of the “Top Ten Papers on Annual Copyright Hot Issues" (2021, 2022, 2023). He has also been awarded the “Outstanding Editor of Social Science Journals in Chinese Universities” (2018) and “Outstanding Editor of Shaanxi University Journals” (2016, 2018). His research interests include intellectual property law, civil law, and technology law. He has published over 60 academic papers in leading journals such as Law Review, Studies in Law and Business, Modern Law Science, Legal Forum, Contemporary Law Review, Science of Law, and ECUPL Journal.
Dr. Jiao has led more than 10 research projects, including those funded by National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Justice’s “National Rule of Law and Legal Theory Research Projects”, and major projects of China Copyright Protection Center. He has published 2 monographs and co-authored 3 textbooks. His research findings have received substantive recognition from provincial and ministerial leaders and have been incorporated into high-level policy documents. His work has earned him numerous accolades, including National Award for Outstanding Editorial Works, Shaanxi Provincial Award for Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences, Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences Research from Shaanxi Universities, and the First Shaanxi Legal Research Famous Achievement Award.
Dr. Jiao also holds several prestigious positions, including being member of the drafting committee for the Regulations for the Implementation of the Copyright Law of the PRC (Expert Proposal) of the National Copyright Administration, board member of China Cyber and Information Law Society, and legislative consultant for the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Shaanxi Province. Additionally, he serves as Vice President of Shaanxi Intellectual Property Society, Vice President of Shaanxi Civil Law Society, Vice President of Shaanxi Construction Law Society, Special Supervisor for Business Environment of Shaanxi Province, Law Enforcement Supervisor for the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of Shaanxi Province, Director of the Copyright Committee of Society of Shaanxi University Journals, arbitrator for Xi’an Arbitration Commission, and member of the 14th Xi’an Municipal Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He has also been elected as member of the 13th and 14th CPPCC in Chang’an District.
