Long-distance oil and gas pipelines are one of the main transportation carriers of oil and natural gas. They have the advantages of large transportation volume, environmental protection and economy, closed safety, convenient management, and easy remote centralized control. With the breakthrough of X80 high-grade steel pipeline development technology and the implementation of projects such as the West-East Gas Pipeline, the construction and application of long-distance oil and gas pipelines in my country have developed rapidly and achieved remarkable achievements. Long-distance oil and gas pipelines have the characteristics of large diameter and high pressure. Once the pipeline structure is damaged or fractured, it is easy to cause pipeline suspension and even oil and gas leakage and explosion accidents. Based on the national oil and gas transportation safety guarantee needs, the T-Lab team starts from practical engineering problems and faces the long-distance transportation of oil and gas resources in complex geological environments. With fracture mechanics as the theoretical basis, finite element methods and experimental mechanics as the means, the team conducts structural safety integrity assessment and fracture damage analysis in the mechanical property testing, failure mode, and damage mechanism of oil and gas storage and transportation equipment structures/components. He has presided over a number of national key R&D program sub-projects, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Qinchuang Original Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Project, the Shaanxi Province Outstanding Young Engineering and Technical Talent Project, and enterprise commissioned projects.
