About Me

Dr. Wei Wang is a full Professor with school of cyber science and engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. He is also an adjunct Professor with school of computer science and technology, Beijing Jiaotong University. He received the Ph.D. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, in 2006. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the University of Trento, Italy, from 2005 to 2006. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with TELECOM Bretagne and with INRIA, France, from 2007 to 2008. He was also a European ERCIM Fellow with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, and with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT), University of Luxembourg, from 2009 to 2011. He was a faculty member with Beijing Jiaotong University from 2011 to 2024. His recent research interests lie in data security and privacy-preserving computation. He has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles in various journals and international conferences, including IEEE TDSC, IEEE TIFS, IEEE TSE, USENIX Security, ACM CCS, AAAI, Ubicomp, IEEE INFOCOM. He received the ACM CCS 2023 Distinguished Paper Award. He is an Elsevier ``highly cited Chinese Researchers''. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, and an Editorial Board Member of Computers & Security and of Frontiers of Computer Science. He is a vice chair of ACM SIGSAC China.

Education

2005: Graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University with a Ph.D. degree.
2005-2006: Conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Trento, Italy.
2007-2008: Conducted postdoctoral research at Telecom Bretagne and INRIA.
2009-2011: Served as a European ERCIM Fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the SnT Research Center at the University of Luxembourg.
Late 2011: Joined the School of Computer Science at Beijing Jiaotong University.
2014: Served as a short-term visiting scholar at New York University.
2019-2021: Visiting scholar at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.

Work Experience

  • Network and system security, data security, and blockchain.
  • Principal investigator of the first Web3.0 key technology project under the National Key R&D Program, and leading over 30 projects including key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation Joint Fund and topics of the National Key R&D Program.
  • Filed over 70 invention patents and co-developed more than 20 international, national, or industry standards.
  • Published over 100 papers in international journals and conferences such as Usenix Security, CCS, TIFS, TDSC, TKDE, and KDD. Consistently selected as an Elsevier "Highly Cited Chinese Researcher."
  • Vice Chair of the Blockchain Special Committee of the China Computer Federation (CCF), Distinguished Speaker, Vice Chair of ACM SIGSAC China. Editorial board member of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing and Computers & Security.
  • Received 1 first prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Chinese Association of Automation (ranked 1st) and 3 second prizes for provincial and ministerial-level Scientific and Technological Progress. Awarded the ACM CCS 2023 Outstanding Paper Award.
  • Application of Research**: Some research outcomes have been applied in large enterprises.
