Introduction

Introduction

Dr. Xin Yan earned his Ph.D. degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2010 and joined the faculty of Xi’an Jiaotong University at same year. He has been a professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University since 2017. He was an Academic Visitor of Osney Laboratory at Oxford University during 2014-2015. He is affiliated with the research program in thermofluid engineering. Dr. Yan currently directs research programs in gas turbine blade heat transfer/cooling and advanced sealing technology with the emphasis on both experiments and numerical simulations. He is also focused on the nano/micro scale heat transfer in chips and electric vehicle batteries. Up to present, 7 Ph.D students and 21 master students have graduated from his research team with his guidance. He has published more than 150 technical articles and, held five Chinese patents with the lead/corresponding author. He served the GPPS (Global Power and Propulsion Society) conference Xi’an21 as the Track Chair and Session Chair of turbines in 2021.
