论文简介    The effects of iso-butanol and n-butanol enriched diesel fuel on the diesel engine performance and emissions are investigated. Neat diesel, 15% butanol /85% diesel (IB15 and NB15) and 30% butanol/ 70% diesel blends (IB30 and NB30) are studied in this study. The test was carried out at light and medium loads and fixed low engine speed, and by using various combinations of EGR rates and injection timings to investigate the effect of molecular structure difference on soot formation. Results show that n-butanol-diesel blends give longer ignition delay compared to that of iso-butanol-diesel blends. Hence iso-butanol has the higher peak cylinder pressure and the premixed heat release rate with respect to n-butanol. Adding butanol (iso-butanol and/or n-butanol) to diesel fuel is able to substantially decrease soot emissions, while the change in NOx emissions varies slightly. Soot emissions from n-butanol-diesel blends are lower compared with those of iso-butanol-diesel blends. Introducing EGR and retarding injection timing are the effective approaches to decrease NOx emissions. However, high EGR rate leads to a penalty on fuel efficiency. The combination of low EGR, later injection and butanol blends can achieve low temperature combustion, and simultaneously decrease NOx and soot emissions.
