Microwave Dielectric Materials and Their Applications

Call for Papers

Microwave dielectric ceramics have been widely studied for more than forty years to meet the ever changing requirements for wireless applications, such as dielectric resonators, dielectric filters, and dielectric antennas. High performance microwave dielectric ceramics with a range of dielectric permittivities (εr) have been discovered and include materials, such as MgTiO3-based, Mg2TiO4-based for εr ~ 20, Ba(Mg,Zn,Sn,Ta,Nb)O3 for εr ~ 30–40, (Zr,Sn)TiO4-based for εr ~ 40, (Sr,Ca)TiO3-(La,Nd)AlO3 for εr ~ 45, and BaO-(Sm,Nd)2O3-TiO2 and (Li,Na)(Nd,Sm,La)TiO3-based for εr >70. With the rapid development of mobile communication and satellite communication, microwave electronic devices are required to be developed and fabricated for miniaturization and integration. There is an increasing need to expand the search for new microwave dielectric materials with either ultra-low permittivities (<10), ultra-high permittivities (>120), and ultra-low dielectric losses (Q > 20000) with low cost and environmental friendly components.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to develop novel microwave dielectric materials and understand the composition-structure-property relation for dielectric materials at microwave region frequency. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • New microwave dielectric ceramic and thick/thin film materials
  • New synthesis and processing science of microwave dielectric materials
  • Nanostructured microwave dielectric ceramics and nanotechnology
  • Microwave dielectric composite materials, such as flexible materials and magnetoelectric composite
  • Design and manufacturing of novel microwave ceramics devices
  • Advanced LTCC (low temperature cofired ceramics) technology and application
  • Novel simulation methods for microwave dielectric materials and devices

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/amse/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/amse/mdma/ according to the following timetable:
