Professor Yan Zhu and Professor Chi-Hang Chan visit XJTU and present their recent work on Data-Converters. Topics on hybrid-ADCs, calibration techniques on ADCs, capacitor layout techniques on ADCs, design and architecture ideas from their recent publications, and conference-journal publication tips are discussed. Thanks for sharing the ideas and the exciting presentation on state-of-the-art designs and techniques in areas of data converters.
Biography:
Yan Zhu received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Macau, Macao, China, in 2009 and 2011, respectively. She is currently an Assistant Professor with the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, University of Macau. Her current research interests include low-power and wideband high-speed Nyquist A/D converters, and digitally assisted data converter designs. She received the Chipidea Microelectronics Prize and the Macao Scientific and Technological R&D for Postgraduates Award - Postgraduate Level in 2012 for Outstanding Academic and Research Achievements in Microelectronics, and the Student Design Contest Award in A-SSCC 2011.
Chi-Hang Chan received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, in 2008, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Macau, Macao, China, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. He currently serves as a Research Assistant Professor with the University of Macau. His current research interests include Nyquist ADC, mixed signal circuits, comparator offset calibration, and Flash and Multibit SAR ADC. He received the Chipidea Microelectronics Prize and the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) Postgraduates Award (Master Level), in 2012 and 2011, respectively. He also received the Macau FDCT Award for Technological Invention (2nd class) and the Macao Scientific and Technological Research and Development for Postgraduates Award (Ph.D. Level) in 2014 for outstanding Academic and Research achievements in Microelectronics. He was a recipient of the 2015 Solid-State-CircuitSociety (SSCS) Pre-doctoral Achievement Award. He was also a co-recipient of the 2011 ISSCC Silk Road Award and the Student Design Contest Award in A-SSCC 2011.
