The field of engineering abounds with mechanical problems involving extreme deformation—such as hypervelocity impacts, structural demolition, and natural disasters. The complex mechanical behaviors and physical processes exhibited by these problems—including massive material deformation, fracture and fragmentation, and strong multi-field coupling—pose significant challenges to traditional numerical simulation methods.
The development of efficient and high-precision numerical simulation theories and algorithms specifically tailored to such extreme deformation problems constitutes a fundamental frontier in the field of computational mechanics globally, as well as a key priority in the development of advanced industrial CAE software.
We are continuously recruiting Ph.D. and Master's students. We warmly welcome prospective students interested in pursuing research in computational mechanics to join our research group; we also encourage outstanding Ph.D. graduates to contact us.
