Prof. Xuchong Zhang is an Associate Professor at the School of Artificial Intelligence, Xi’an Jiaotong University.His research focuses on fundamental theories, key technologies and engineering applications of efficient lightweight deep learning models for edge-side intelligent perception and computing, which has significantly improved the accuracy and real-time performance of environmental perception for autonomous unmanned systems.

He has presided over 7 national research projects (covering National Science and Technology Major Program topics, Science and Technology Commission key projects, pre-research projects, NSFC Youth Program, and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation) and 6 horizontal projects. He has published numerous papers in prestigious international journals and conferences including IEEE TCSVT, TGRS, Information Fusion, CVPR, ICLR, ECCV and IROS, and holds multiple granted national invention patents. He serves as a reviewer for TCSVT, ACM MM and AAAI, and has held chair positions in MCSoC-2022, ICVISP-2025 and the Conference on Embodied Intelligence and Systems.His honours include the First Prize of Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Award (2024), the First Prize of CAA Natural Science Award (2024), Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Shaanxi Province (2021), Young Top Talent of Shaanxi "Sanqin Talent Special Support Program" (2024), and Xi'an Youth Science and Technology Excellence Program (2025).
