To mitigate environmental problems including urban haze and urban heat island effect, solutions should be explored at urban, community and building scales. From an architectural perspective and with interdisciplinary knowledge integration, the Institute of Low-Carbon Cities and Green Buildings, School of Human Settlements conducts research on green buildings, urban heat island effect and its mitigation strategies.
Meanwhile, to promote international academic development, the research team has established long-term and stable academic partnerships with Politecnico di Milano, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Kitakyushu. Each year, the team organizes and funds overseas academic exchange activities for master’s and doctoral students, such as participation in international conferences, international academic visits, and joint training programmes for double degrees.
We welcome masters students, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers and lecturers with academic backgrounds in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, building environment and energy engineering, energy and power engineering, computer science, environmental engineering and related disciplines to join our research team.
