Prof. Hongbin Sun is a National Distinguished Professor, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Human Machine Hybrid Augmented Intelligence, and Deputy SecretaryGeneral of the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA). His research interests include  autonomous intelligent systems ( Embodied AI ),  embedded computer vision, and AI  chip design.

Addressing both international academic frontiers and major national needs, he has published numerous papers in prestigious conferences and journals in the fields of integrated circuits and artificial intelligence, four of which have received Best Paper Awards (or nominations). He holds more than 40 national invention patents. He serves as a young editorial board member for journals such as CJE (Chinese Journal of Electronics) and the Journal of Intelligent Science and Technology, and previously served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT). He has received multiple research honours, including the Second Prize of the National Technical Invention Award, the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the First Prize of the Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Award, the First Prize of the CAA Natural Science Award, and the Qiushi Artificial Intelligence Science and Education Award (Youth Award).
