Research directions and Interests

The research directions are as follows:

1. Processing, mechanical and electrical properties of metal materials (such as powder metallurgy)

2. Key electronic materials (such as conductive cable materials, flexible electronics materials)

3. Computational materials related methodology (machine learning, scientific research software development and parallel computing, solid state physics surrounding the theory of atomic-level dynamics/thermodynamics/phonons, simulation methods (first principles, molecular dynamics, activation and relaxation technique, phase field, Monte Carlo, cluster expansion))

4. top down and bottom up approach to synthesize the microscale and nanoscale conductive metal matrix composites

Work and research experience

From 2015 to 2020, he did his postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, the University of Alabama, and Purdue University. From 2020, he took the permanent full-time position as a high-performance computing senior IT engineer in the United States. On December 19, 2022, he joined as a professor at Frontier Institute of Science and Technology of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and a member of the Frontier Electronics Research Center. He has published more than 20 papers in authoritative journals of metallic materials, such as Acta Materialia, Composites Part A, Scripta Materialia, Materials Science and Engineering A, etc., and his research has been positively reported by international authoritative media such as Advanced Science News, US Department of Energy, and physics.org. Developed two computational software for materials research. Served as the editorial board member of international journals Materials, Processes, etc., and the reviewer for 30 high-level journals such as Acta Materialia, Composites Part B, Composites Part A, Materials & Design, etc. Invited to give oral reports 10 times at top international and domestic conferences such as MRS, TMS, and Beijing Advanced Forum.

Openings

Each year, about 1-2 international doctoral students outside of China are recruited. Students with background in materials, mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanics, software engineering, high-performance computing and other related majors or research backgrounds are welcome to apply. The research team will provide students with excellent career development opportunities (such as participation in famous international and domestic conferences, foreign exchange visits, industrial and scientific research skills training, etc.).

Each year opportunity for recruitment of undergraduate students who have a solid background in math, physics and computer science for international undergraduate intern research.

Long-term recruitment of postdoctoral fellows, and provide them with excellent career development opportunities.
