Academic Achievements

        研究团队围绕细胞能量代谢的核心细胞器-线粒体的代谢和退变机制等重要科学问题,在探索衰老、老年痴呆症、2型糖尿病发生的线粒体机制,以及研究靶向干预线粒体退变损伤等方面取得一些重要的原创性发现,为衰老、老年痴呆症、2型糖尿病等的防治提出了新的治疗靶点和防治策略。

一、创新线粒体营养素与药物理论,发现若干有效改善认知、缓解衰老相关退行性病变的功能分子,在衰老及相关疾病防治中具有重要应用潜力。
二、率先提出并论证细胞脂质代谢中产生的醛类所引起的线粒体退变机制揭示外周与中枢代谢紊乱是脑认知损伤的关键因素,为Harman博士提出的经典的自由基衰老理论增添了新的理论内容和实验依据。
三、提出线粒体是微重力、极端环境应激的关键感受器,靶向调节线粒体代谢可有效改善应激所致中枢与外周损伤
四、在2型糖尿病研究中获得重要发现:胰岛素抵抗的发生伴随细胞自噬异常,后者参与调控线粒体自身代谢。该研究首次揭示了能量代谢的核心细胞器-线粒体自身代谢在糖尿病中的基本调节规律,对于解答糖尿病发生的基本科学问题及其预防有重要意义。
上述研究工作的开展,得到国家基金委、相关国际基金以及教育部“985工程”建设的大力支持。目前,研究团队针对衰老、老年痴呆症、2型糖尿病等重要的线粒体相关疾病,专注于探索其线粒体代谢规律及疾病防治策略,已经形成特色鲜明、有一定国际影响力的学科方向。
