Opportunities for suitably qualified candidates with research interests in Mitochondrial Degeneration & Therapeutic Intervention in Aging, Neurodegenerative Diseases and Metabolic Syndromes are from time-to-time available.

 

MINIMUM ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

1)  Candidates are expected to graduate from top universities from their home country or other international universities. In addition, candidates must meet the academic requirements, usually a minimum overall average in the B+ range. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission as it is a competitive process.

 

2) Candidates must have demonstrable skills and backgrounds in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and/or neuron biology, etc.

 

3) Candidates should demonstrate compatetive research skills, with publications are a plus.

 

4)  A documented ability to independently carry out experimental research projects is required, as are good communication skills in spoken and written English.

Postdoctoral Positions

Postdoctoral Positions at the Institute of Mitochondria Biology and Medicine (IMBM), Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, China for Studying Mitochondrial Molecular and Cell Biology

 

Postdoctoral positions are immediately available at the Institute of Mitochondria Biology and Medicine (IMBM), Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, China. The IMBM conducts research and education in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, structural biology and nutritional biology. Our main research focuses on deciphering the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome, aging related disorders of the nervous system and cancer using mass spectrometry, super resolution microscopy, cryoEM, electrophysiology, cellular and experiment animal approaches.

 

DUTIES

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral fellows interested in studying the molecular and cell biology of mitochondrial mechanism on aging, aging related neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic diseases.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. degree graduated recently three years and have a strong track record in biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or neuron biology.

 

2. Experiences with mass spectrometry, super resolution microscopy, cryoEM, protein expression and purification, patch clamp are a plus.

 

3. A documented ability to independently carry out experimental research projects is required, as are good communication skills in spoken and written English.

 

TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP

  • A scholarship for carrying out postdoctoral research can be granted for a maximum of four years with a mid-term review.

  • The amount is ¥160,000 basic payment before tax per year and paid out on a monthly basis.

  • An extra tax free living support of ¥60,000 will be paid by the Shaanxi Province government during the first two years on a one payment basis.

  • In exceptional cases, shorter periods may be acceptable.
