Dr. Donghai Xu is the full Professor and doctoral advisor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the visiting scholar of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), the national level young talents. He has long been committed to the basic theoretical research and technological development of biomass thermochemical conversion and utilization. He is mainly engaged in the basic theoretical research and technological development of biomass thermochemical conversion and utilization related to hydrothermal conversion and catalytic upgrading of wet biomass. He is mainly engaged in the research work related to hydrothermal conversion and catalytic upgrading of wet biomass. He has published more than 230 papers, including more than 200 SCI papers (103 first/corresponding authors, representative papers include Renew Sust Energ Rev、Chem Eng J、Grean chem、Water Res、Appl Energ、Corros Sci、AIChE J 8 ESI papers, cited more than 8000 times, 46 personal H factor, 5 Chinese and English books and 6 Chinese and English textbooks. It has obtained 64 Chinese invention patents (27 for the first inventor and 12 for the second inventor), 2 U.S. invention patents, and its core participation in the transfer or licensing of a number of patents. He has successively won the honors of Shaanxi excellent doctoral dissertation, the gold award of the 8th International Invention Exhibition, the China Patent Excellence Award, the gold award of Shaanxi provincial scientific and technological workers' innovation and entrepreneurship competition, the first global top 100 scientific and technological innovation competition (team award), the first prize of science and technology of Shaanxi colleges and universities, and the entrepreneurship and innovation award of China Invention Association. From 2020 to 2024, it was selected into the "annual influence" list of the world's top 2% scientists jointly released by Stanford University and Elsevier for five consecutive years.
