Targeting deployment scenarios such as B5G/6G intelligent communications and integrated sensing and communication, our group focuses on high-mobility channel waveform design and communication receiver signal processing methods, integrated sensing and communication theory and methods, and intelligent communication and signal processing methods.
High-Mobility Channel Waveform Design and Signal Processing Methods
6G will inevitably operate in high-mobility propagation environments, such as UAV, vehicular, satellite and aeronautical communications. High-mobility channels exhibit doubly selective fading in time and frequency, which makes reliable information transmission a formidable challenge. This topic aims at breakthroughs in modulation waveform design and communication receiver signal processing algorithms, so as to improve the efficiency and reliability of information transmission in high-mobility wireless communications.
Integrated Sensing and Communication: Theory and Methods
Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is one of the six key scenarios of 6G. It integrates communication and sensing into a single wireless system, thereby improving resource utilisation and enabling mutual cooperation between sensing and communication. This topic aims to explore the information-theoretical limits of ISAC and to develop ISAC waveform design and signal processing methods.
Intelligent Communications and Signal Processing Methods
6G is AI-native: artificial intelligence is no longer an add-on optimisation module layered on top of the communication system, but an intrinsic element embedded in the network architecture, air interface and physical-layer design. This topic aims to develop AI-assisted channel modelling and prediction, AI-assisted network optimisation, and generative-AI-based signal processing methods.
